No! is the first thought

that generally comes to mind

though, there must be a better way

to say it more politely yet still firm

a subtle fusion of the two

that could hopefully bind

and catch the catcher who does not wish

to be caught

rape is such an ugly word

for an even uglier act

but this crime in itself

is an every hour occurrence

a way of life even

and for some

a fact

we, as women must live with the violence

and at times befriend its maker

for if we do not

we are caught up in a storm of hate and

left unguarded before this lone woman's

life taker

so brutally bitter is the unasked for assault

leaving its victim

scarred

abused

lost

and distraught

though, so firm stand the backers and believers

no matter what

each their genders

the men, women and laws who pass and try to

put away these vile sex offenders .............
