back in the days when Annie still looked good

all the undesirables would pester her

yes they would

but even then Annie stood firm like she had always

stood

not even a shy gentleman farmer could make her believe

he wasn't in some way or another some sort of hood

so Annie shriveled up into an old maid and eventually

died

and although when she went she couldn't take all that

money she had accumulated with her

at least in its place she was able to take her pride
