we haunted the beach with salt in our eyes
and the wind in our haphazard hair
holding hands loosely like that of child like lovers
while our eyes we cast everywhere
we confessed to each of our mutual love for the ocean
and the shores with all their natural simplicity and splendor
both so beautiful like the serenity of a sea horse
a mystery so vital yet with no apparent gender
it was much too cold to even briefly for the moment
wade
so after our silent walk from each to it our solitary
goodbyes we quietly bade
then we romantically with purposeful leisure strolled
back up the banks of the surrounding promenade
and for our lovely though short time together we
sweetly with great reverence thank the almighty, God...
