I am hardly just any man's ultimate mate

well then rather perhaps

I am the under mentioned alternative

a death of possible attraction

likely worse than fate

I have wondered this very same thing

a great many times before

while looking upon this

unremarkable face

could any one of you

honestly blame me

for my doubts

somehow I doubt it

if you read the disappointment

in these haunted eyes..........
