the finest charm

will cloak itself

in a whisper less glade

modest exchanges of thought

bring about terraces

on which to lounge

and carefully persuade

chance the joy

of crowing before risk

her immodest personal fortune made

from meeting a most thoroughly engaging

gentleman aloft and from so far off

in such an exotic distant land

Singapore

a place where silks and riverboats

spice and tradition

rule the mind with fragrant chagrin

and men above the common cut of man

with their mere cavalier ideas

flatter, enrapt and praise

lady  poetesses

with a fresh sincerity

that can only enable them to win

her true 'sweet spirits'

most deeply enchanted regard

the fletchings of her fondest friendship

and the covetous ribbons of her uncompromisable

self respect

acquired this very day

at a fraction of the usual premium

for two necessary parts I feel are we
