her door is a jar
beauty is scattered
all around her room
no one would dare traipse over it
for fear of crushing its
tender core
morality hangs upon her walls
a speck of anticipation here and there
her closet is filled with purchases of
great knowledge
from stores you can not find
any other where
antiques of moments cherished
she wraps in the finest
papers to save
neatened and tidied in drawers
near as dark as an outlaw's cave
whispered frets
so feverish in the corner
take the viewer back a step or two
in such room the vacuum is felt
we think we need so much
but really require so very little
England Dan and John Ford-Coley were right
