you, my unshakable love
are not only my valentine
but my every day kind of true love
the husband that I, and other women just like me
have long since dreamed of
the world can not intrude upon our happiness
not truly
for it possesses not
the necessary key
for its unwelcomed intrusion
upon our blessed union
our journey together
is a sacred vessel
solid and enduring
we cling in an era
when others clap loudest apart
so easily they unstick and disband
carelessly forging on
the future though
stands so breathlessly welcome
before us
so enchanted
to witness each step we make
as we venture closer to this home
the possibility of children
teases our minds
as the thought of their precious little
lives yet to come
warms our inner most beings
bringing fully only then to our lives
a depth and rightness
we can not even remotely envision now
we are two glorious colors
woven into a stunning rainbow
our goal remains the same
to filter the light we are given
in each our own unique spirit
the purest way we know how
and this, my irreplaceable you
I do best through poetry
and my loving you
my breath
my life
my toil
my joy
I give gladly
wholely and thankfully
forever to you
as safe they shall be
here to for
in your tenderest most
safe keeping
this I am certain of
until my eyes awaken
to see your smile for me
no more................
