she was to the national headlines
a golden monument to life
and yet a glaring representation of innocence
taken and destroyed
even brutalized in fact
some would shout to her killer
how could such a dazzling light in the world
be so callously extinguished
especially while she carried within her
another glorious being of light yet born
we are just not meant to understand some acts
that are put upon us
our role is but to better learn from each
incident that comes our joyous and or troubled
way
though as difficult and wrenching as this
abomination was/is
and even harder as it may be to believe
still
there is so much beauty in the aftermath
as often is the case
the startling realization of the millions who
came to care so much for the once bubbly
now slain lovely girl
evidence of the great, great love that people
carry for one another deep in their souls
this poem is for her
that dear her the world got to meet
sadly postmortem
please know that our hearts and prayers go out
to the shattered family of dear Laci Peterson
and her son Connor
I just hope they know that were it not for this
terrible tragedy
we the world would not have known just who she
was
from her death so many got to witness her light
so in that tiny fact I fervently pray her family
finds a modicum of peace and comfort
in these greatest hours of grief and pain
for now in the hands of GOD all of Laci and little
Connor's love is lain..............
