the mutual attraction is steady and strong

unto one and ourselves we both belong

between us, this heat we two as one feel it

the light has been placed brightly within

our greedy little grips

which one of us will choose first to steal it

together, will we ever experience love's joy

minus its clinching heartache

or is this a questionable assumption

one a companionable couple should never dare to

make

did I fall for you or your highly guarded image

that's always in its proper place

will you take my latest mistake and cast it into

my upturned and stone startled face

is it possible to experience two conflicting

emotions at once

or is it more aptly correct in saying born an

idiot bound always to be a dunce

my opinion of us I must pen and rethink

are you to be my life long partner

or for now a mere chain in which only to be

a small unimportant link

now, isn't that a bitch

and doesn't this situation stink

this is the end of these lackluster lines

I think I need a stiff drink............
