unanchored knowledge

is knowledge of books

you've yet to read

only heard about

yet in regular conversations

one adopts as their own

for impression purposes

or self inflation of ego

who can really say

'tis not a pretty sight

when such adoption is learned of

or worse yet discovered mid point

in what was thought to be

a previously

stunning conversation

for truth sometimes scratches

the skin as we pull it on

and examine it closely

in the minute mirror of one's deep self

reflection

abrasions of painful truth do occur and surface

to be more deeply examined

by the fractured physical self

with a mental fortitude that is at best

damaged

in the physical restraint and strain of its own

inept madness..........................
