I am giddy with my great love for poetry

it is the lover I endlessly shield  

so to protect yet never truly see

it makes me feel confident, useful and complete

into my own hopefully romantic mind I

countlessly retreat

I am a great student of self resilience

and the belief, power and strength found in

yet untapped brilliance

I believe in telling the best of the truth

so to convince

of truth and lies we will never fully dispense

of my opinions on truth in connection to life

you may beg to differ

many of society's rules and regulations today

could stand to be made much more stiffer

of this life, I am no more than a drive by night

drifter

perhaps my carefully collected thoughts can bring

some understanding to this so very wanting era

and make our foundation of human consciousness

that much swifter............
