my spirit knew yours

long before we actually met

I was but a butterfly

so bright in my flight

doomed I thought

once

to forever fly in such a gray and

darkened world

that is until I much too happily

stumbled upon your net

all this gentled poetry that breaths in me

now it seems breaths just as well in you

I possess no greater knowledge than that

of these words

oh, I do so dearly love you

the reasons I should always be with you

make such sweet silent love to me in my mind

while the reasons that perhaps I should not

scare me beyond measure

to cry for a time

there are indeed paths we each must take

roads that have to be traveled

as there just as well is umpteen amount of

decisions here at stake

so much upheaval

and yet

so much more love

just tell me

how do I keep steady

on this so wondrous course

until I find my way to you

whether here or in the here after

unscathed

better on the inside

for having this opportunity

to love and be loved

by someone as incomparable as you............
