oh fair butterflies and bluebonnets
how they make me long for spring
upon their glorious majestic poise and beauty
why, I could ponder endlessly upon such a simple
thing
the heart softly flutters at the sight of the sun
mooning over the grassy green meadows below
the breeze ruffles the happy trees' dancing branches
and I am taken quite a back by the unfolding natural
show
spring so does remind me of happy days of childhood
and of course my childhood reminds me of a many
spring
I can cast the abundant light and laughter upon
the weather warm drenched days that have passed
to the sound of welcomed wind chimes that hung
over a near by neighbor's back porch swing
oh these nostalgic sights and sounds of the
coming of another beloved summer
do arch the brow of delight
and make the child in me again wonder
will old man winter never find wings to be fit
enough to fly away
come alight upon me
soft sweet feelings of an open armed spring
and bring with you as well
your silly sister summer
along soon to stay..................
