DEMOCRACY'S INHERITANCE

to an attitude of grace
words weave restless
as conspirator's theories
sponsor themselves arrogantly
to achieve closure in bulk
pushing their conjecture
to the unfinished finish line
that all men are created equal
reminiscent of the stop gap measures
rendered since
that bogged down and beleaguered
such pale postulations in the eerily
gathered nineteenth century
which stands clear in the records
of historical folly today
that when united in agreement
men can and will take steps
(even the most dire of steps)
to achieve a more stabilized
human experience
the onslaught of the civil war
( continuous blood flood that it was)
fought so divided yet tenaciously
for even then each side held firmly
to their rights which they felt so
strongly for
encouraged to stand up for
what they believed
by emboldened words of our founding fathers
and their gorily doing so
upon the dreary battlefield
notes this very painfully reached point
Democracy with and in of itself
even with all its stagnant flaws
shines ever forth
a creased and re ironed example
to similarly embroiled nations of this
time
while yet
a beacon to their struggling peoples
that from a not so far distance
there is an order of sorts to life
finding the unity's page and
standing up to organize the
full content of each meaning
to every individual
takes
guts
tears
purpose
and fairness shared
but firstly
it takes
belief
America
though scarred
imperfect
unsophisticated
and rawly brash
she stands tall and proud
a loving charitable land
and still remarkably
unbeknownst to most
for they care not enough
to really look and truly see her
for themselves
she remains
even in the intense
misunderstanding hatreds of
those opposing her today
one nation
under GOD
indivisible
with liberty
and justice for all
