even in death

while clipped

they're so beautiful yet alone

stands the complete significance

of the rose

breathing ever hopeful romance

into the lives of a rare and numerous few

the gift of what's unexpected

is the very essence of her preferential

treat

though not so especially new

with the passing ages of conquests

there trots upon their all too predictable

ground

lovers so unabashedly true

one with burning romance adjacent to their

overly sleeved hearts standing ready to do

battle without any further adieau

weepers walk willingly into the open arms

of a most bittersweet and enthralling flame

and their gift simultaneous to your own

negotiate the rules of each individual game

the rose though quite lovely all the same

usually plays the part of the catalyst

and her understudy often is cast as man in the

role of his, shall we say

hopeful best...........................
