take the laughter

take the rain

take these words

slowly repeated in vain

you are the sun that refused to shine

yet all the while you're the shade that

never shadowed the vine

but still with you everything at once I was

able to learn

and between life and love so sweetly scalded I could

indeed discern

so in my walked upon heart you by passed all possible

promise

and hid your many unacceptable tendencies far from

my bedazzled hands

so shaking my entire world to its core with but

one calm kiss

as I was dutifully reprimanded between all consciously

critical commands

now you must give me rights to the dagger that you all

too eagerly placed in my unsuspecting sides

for to this very occasion I have so very politely ignored

the salt searing my open wounds

from the incoming tides

know that not only is death mine now

but also the ability to forgive as well..........
