such fledgling interest

harnessed in hope

harbored at an angle

leaves one to wonder

just where and when

will such a train derail

what injuries will accumulate

and as the casualties of want surmount

where will the bodies be buried

at what cost to the soul do we fumble

in our repeated attempts to better anchor

onto this life

and the many curves of its learning purposes

and best of all

just what is teaching who

while the sparks linger on

not knowing yet which way is best

for them to die

it is here that one heart stands

proud to challenge these very moments

to be remembered

and the challenged herself

stands back in such gaping awe

at the proven poverty of such a knee jerk

response

to a proposed motion

leading to a confusing state of conflicted

affairs

where the door has been opened  

no light dare

cross the threshold of misunderstanding.........
