Images would fail if images were so let

prospects grow small as would any such plans

filled with doubtless regret

to what we each do one should lay on most of

the unbelieved blame

is it sorrowful sight

poor judgment or mere soulless shame

and why can 'The Altered Specific' not so easily be

found nor named

long after the initial tempers' rage has tired from

being made so inflamed

for immediate correction target not who set you off

with whatever wrong choice of words were repeated

for many darker fears than unbridled doubt have collided

with the fists of the forward mind and been all too

easily defeated

while most paths of past escape are often easiest to see

but when one seriously stops and ponders the earlier

clashes

he is forced by ageless demons to adamantly agree

that no matter what the problem is

the sash is still roughly stricken from the waist of the free

and he who is left standing alone

stripped of all self worth before a sea of onlookers

is no longer what he once thought he would turn out

to be

the winner of all winners............
