you've got my unearthed soul burning ever
more bright
twirling wildly about as if atop a broken
axle through out a long summer's night
knocking out meteor's lights as it softly
sings
like old dark haired Diamond, Neil himself
it tells of sweet and special things
like love's sad yet sweet surprise
found in the warm dreams of one's youth
or what disillusionment love can bring
to one's self esteem after an exhausting
bout with an evening's bottle of Vermouth
then I listen to Barry when Neil can not seem
to bring me far enough down
for this road of invented heartache (I'm almost
sorry to say) is not long enough for me
to one composer of tragedy
so singularly honor bound...............
