I cast softly my bemused gaze
into a hope filled sea of deadened trees
brought so suddenly to life by an
unexpected Chinook's warm, welcome breeze
so lost and solemn before in their sad winter's
slumber so very chilly and long
knowing now that an early summer's view is not
yet where their skeletal branches belong
sooner than they imagine though their frozen
twigs will start to thaw and bloom
and over every available horizon
their ever deep forest green beauty will once
again assume
that the latest rebirth of spring has come back
around quickly to make its creative self known
putting in its long awaited for appearance
as the chain of the seasons must continue on.......
