from what I've carefully read

a scared, courageous young man you were

as soft and curious as thunder

in so seeking out

the streams of knowledge to enlightenment

yet more and more spiritually hollow than

than the hunger itself you became

with every increasing abuse you witnessed

and endured

the torture and the cold taught you to detach

while your faith further and further escaped your

ravaged mind

with each subsequent day of psychological defeat

and the "NIGHT"s were your enemy

you existed caged and marked

a starved faceless stranger to even yourself

as well as an obvious object of disgust

to vast others' vile hands of hate and deep

rooted seeds of mistrust

the world could never even hope to comprehend

the atrocities to which you had to adjust

and "The Nightmare Ever After" you must walk

through still

unable to enjoy even the smallest beauties in life

but work harder and harder

to better make others understand

what we should never allow to happen again

sectarian violence

ethnic cleansing

genocide

whatever the latest generation wishes to label it

such vulgar disposal of humanity must be stopped

at every possible turn and with the full resources

of the world community behind its

dismantlization of all men's psyches............
