JOURNAL # 41

halt the flickerous flame
startled hot
the coals doth bring
sparks that wildly lash out
from the careless kindle
all edges and glow
with their cinders dancing
to a murderous theme
stomp the burning rug
quick
bring me another match
for that pail of still water
in the eerie corner
makes me nervous to strike
yet truly luminous shall be
the billow
halt the flickerous flame
I damn sure will not
seething more so NOT
in such shadowed shame
I will feed it further
flint and sulfate
as all eyes mirror
its 'Delivery'
from the counterfeit claim...........

Author's Notes/Comments:

Though flickerous is not a word here I am  borrowing if you will a page from Cummings and playing with words and thoughts. It's very refreshing when one  unchains ones self. The counterfeit claim I am hinting at is that fire purifies. To many it would merely seem to destroy and I was playing with that premise. Anyway I have to write what insists upon being written. Sometimes the poems are very surly and broad shouldered and force their way onto the page. I always feel better when I've gotten myself out of their way. Anyway, Enjoy!
