unbeknownst to my then young self
my grandma's words influenced
me greatly
so much comfort, confidence
and common sense her potent views
gave to my flowering young mind
for so many years I quoted
her inadvertently
many times quoting God
for she drew her words
from her Bible's study
and imparted them
upon those of us
in her most immediate world
so utterly selfless was her gift
and I was her most loving
of pupils
gazing back now as I do
into those loving folds
that was my grandma's great
love for me
I recognize her now
for not just who she was sent here
to be for me but what she was
God's initial emissary to me
sent to companion my soul
with the magnificence of hers
for what seemed so briefly
laying the strongest, earliest,
finest foundation for my literal life
yet still to come
bringing me full into my purpose
via all the magnificent weaving
with beauty's grace
as much as she herself had spun
such unforgettable 'Bible Thoughts'
forever my soul clasps yours Grandma
forever am I found in your words
remembered from so long ago
and to think it only took 35 years after
your death
for me to realize this so certainly
there is none to my child's inner eyes
more loving than you
my so beloved Grammy V.
