I remember from the beginning, I was just a little girl

Didn’t know what to do with myself in this big ole world

I could do anything, she reminded me

When I was scared and needed to cry, there’d she be

Can’t imagine growing up without her around

Without all the fun and adventures we found

Just a big yard but we had big imaginations

Didn’t then realize the extent of my appreciation

I remember fighting and sometimes the cruel words

But that never stopped me from looking up to her

Growing up with someone like her around

Was a blessing I have that some have never found

I could cry to her with anything on my mind

It didn’t matter what it was, she never hurt my pride

Looking back now I remember the late nights

We’d stay up laughing till we cried

So many of my favorite memories

Are moments when it was just her and me

Times have changed and we have grown

And as I finally come into my own

I couldn’t think of a more perfect situation

Because now she’s more than my inspiration

As I become a woman as well

We can relate on a different level

I love knowing that until the very end

She’s not just my sister, but also an amazing friend.
