The Star Of Winters Gloom
Once again the clocks go back and darkness rules our land,
Northern Europe falls into the grip of Persephon hand,
Winters long months lay ahead as the trees shed their summer bloom,
Leaving their bare limbs and spidery brush naked in the gloom,
Summer birds long gone on their miraculous flight to warmer climes,
The Crows, the Magpies and the little Robin are left through barren times,
The Sun hides behind grey clouds and wants no part of day,
People put on their overcoats and hurry to their way,
But there is one bright star on the horizon that little children dream,
Because winter cannot deny in all its bleakest schemes,
Christmas is the maiden that blackens Persephon eye,
When men rejoice once again which lights up winters sky,
( Persephon the goddess of Winter and the underworld)
