Saw the flames of years
time now brings tears
when cocks crowed
and birds whistled
the sun smiled
Abound was bread and butter
the days of light
that came so bright
Today is ridden
gold and silver no more
frustration is bidden
a disordered galore
a wet wintry weather
its hugs give me shelter
a new way is born
traffic goes helter skelter
locusts eat our corn
Mountain tops are craggy
climbers dare to reach
poverty cloaks the needy
new lessons to teach
Our eyes grow sore
as we try to smile
saw a faint line or more
it lasted only a while
our faces devoid of glory
another sad story
no cause to smile.
