Swimming pool on the road

This pool is shallow-

vehicles swim by.

This pool has arms,

A bridge holds nigh.

With drops from the sky,

Its meal is served

as cars, buses and lorries ply.

There's coldness of day,

water comes to stay.

Clouds shed tears,

potholes create fears.

Witness the storm today

the pool seems to say.

Author's Notes/Comments:

A simple expression of neglected roads that have become death traps in wet stormy weather. It exposes lack of maintenance on highways that become more visible and harmful when the rains come.
