The eerie lake

But after all, nobody, even the most wistful of them all, could´ve imagined what the outraging water could bring to the most important valley of the highest and largest mountain. The great lake was at the beginning the most wonderful resource in there. Full of clear, fresh and sweet water, every single creature enjoyed of it.

Two were the most powerful tribes of animals that lived right at the summit of the mountains, the golden eagles, which lived in the eternity nest, where the wealth of the mountains was and the bears, which lived in the largest and darkest cave of the mountains. Right between both places was the lake, the sweet and merciful lake. The eagles and the bears agreed at the beginning to look forward for the lake, to attend and care about each other and the rest of creatures of the valley, but especially for the lake, which was the reason every tribe was alive. If the lake was gone, the mountains will dry, and everyone knew about that. But one day… everything changed.

One of the bears, was making his round and felt anxious about how does the water taste. So, with nobody around, he drank some water from the mountain. He enjoyed too much that he started to drink more and more and more every time he make his patrol. Until one day, bears and eagles could notice that the level of the lake was decreasing. And the end began.

Eagles and bears start squawking about who was stealing the water. Bears blamed eagles that they had been stealing it for their own goods. And eagles blamed bears that they had been taking it to satisfy their necessities. The selfish of both clans, made that both of them started to steal water until the lake was completely dried.

The days past and the reserves of the precious liquid, that were stole by the animals, was gone and soon the mountains started to lose their bright and life. The animals began to feel desperate because of the situation and wanted to make something about it, but it was too late to repair the damage.

Without the lake, destruction started to appear and the perdition of the animals was here. They felt into craziness and began to die. Not only bears and eagles, but the rest of the creatures that used to live there slowly started to succumb against the unavoidable drought brought by the greed among the creatures of the valley, the very eerie attitude that transformed something beautiful and life-giving into a death reason.
