Deprecating Love
As time goes by I see
Nothing of hope in me,
It seems as if I’ve thrown it all away,
What I wouldn’t give to return to yesterday.
The scenery races through mind,
As the answers I look for I cannot find
Everything I do is locking me into this bind.
I reach out to those I love
But it seems not one is left
All that I am has driven away
The few that I fondly think of.
It is a load too heavy to heft
And now what can I do? What can I say?
It seems I am completely lost,
I feel so empty and utterly alone.
The dreams I had I’ve slowly tossed,
The emotional obstacles I face are unknown.
What they stand for I fail to see.
This world I’ve created is deprecating me . . .
