Nothing was ever wasted on the farm.
Every little thing was used quite up.
The coffee can when empty dipped the feed.
The child's toy dish was an old and cracked teacup.
No one had the funds to waste a thing.
Gram said, "Don't waste and then you'll want it not."
We never thought to throw that leaky bucket out.
It was perfect still as a folkart flower pot.
Cool.....love those flowers in the bucket, too.
My mother also use to say: "Waste not, want not."
Perhaps its why I've saved all those fabric and yarn scraps, etc.
Know what?....now I'm saying it to my kid! They must have been right.
