April Rain
Heat gathered to a peak
At ninety degrees today.
Clouds came rolling over.
The sky turned a dark Payne's grey.
Lightning whipped and crackled.
It struck the ground with a pop.
Rain softly descended,
Soaked turned earth 'til it stopped.
Ah, the rains of April,
Replenish the driest ground.
Lo, e'en in December,
April's sweet promise is found.

Author's Notes/Comments:
I love the soaking rains of springtime. They give me an excuse for NOT doing yardwork. LOL
