Can I believe the things he tells me now?
Does he know just how appealing
Is the pain that he's revealing?
Should I listen as he gives to me his vow?
Does he know that I am dealing
With a heart that has been stealing
Life vicariously by reading silly books?
Could I safely let him see me?
And that inner person be me?
As he smiles and nods and looks and looks and looks?
