Maybe

You tell me that I'm perfect,

And you love me as I am.

You say I've made you happy

Though I just can't comprehend.

You say I should accept it--

This miracle we share.

And you want to make me happy

To show how much you care.

Well, maybe it IS real for us,

And there's nothing I can do,

And maybe you're on target

As sweet words spill from you,

And maybe I'm so broken

From the life I had before

That I can't truly recognize

The dream I've of't prayed for.

Maybe I'm still waiting

For that Prince and his white steed,

But, Your Highness, as YOU beckon

My heart swells up with need.

Maybe I'm a fool again,

But, Sweet Prince, maybe not.

And maybe if we give our love

Everything--all we've got,

We'll both fulfill our dreams at last

We'll both of us find peace.

Maybe just by giving

We'll find that we recieve.

Author's Notes/Comments:

When I wrote this a few weeks ago I thought that MAYBE I had found the right one...MAYBE he'll come back to Georgia...Maybe this time he'll stay...  Whatever happens, I decided to post it anyway.  Who knows?  MAYBE he'll see it.

Jessica, I hope that all of your positive Maybe's come true... But if they don't, I think that "Maybe"... Some of your best work comes shining through when you are in whatever the emotional state of mind was that you were in when you wrote this!
I loved it!!
