A Bargain For Sure







When I am lonely,  remind me, Lord,

that You faced the cross alone.



When I am tired, help me to see

this labor’s not my own.



When friends forsake, and loved ones fail

to take my shaking hand,



Help me forgive.  Make me aware

of the weakness in all men.



Don’t let me dwell on yesterday

with it’s many painful hours,



But show me Your sweet healing touch,

your great restoring power.



I care not for a mint of gold

nor a ransom newly won.



But I desire to feel Your touch

when each new day is done.



And though I live for a hundred years

with wealth and worldly fame,



The gold is dross without the cross

and the glory of your name.



I cannot change the way things were

in days already passed,



But I can cling to Your outstretched hand,

and on You my burdens cast.



So when my load gets weary,

I know You’ll help me through.



My path will be much easier

as long as I follow You.
