How do I approach Thee, Oh my God.?

For Thou art pure and clean and altogether holy.

How dare I lessen this burden by clinging to Thy spotless grace?

I am vile and unworthy.  A creature with no recompense

Save Thy most generous love.

Thy word teaches me to depend upon Thy mercy,

To adhere to Thy boundless loving grace.

How can I hope?  How can I plan for something so adverse to Thine

Admonishments for my own good?

I love Thee, My God, My Lord, with a love

born of Thine own everlasting love.

Thou knowest me altogether and knowest mine iniquities.

Yea, they are many.  I need Thee, Oh Lord of my salvation.

My foot nigh slippeth and my hand doth reach out

for that which is not mine own.

Save me Father, and keep me in Thy peaceful embrace.

I am poor and needy, a vessel of dishonor in the house of my Lord.

Cleanse me and make me worthy to serve Thee, Oh God of my salvation.

For thou alone hast seen my weeping.  Thou alone hast bottled my tears before Thy throne of mercy.

Have mercy upon me now, my God, and keep me from sin.

For yea, the desire of mine heart doth call out to me,

And but for Thy commandments would I hasten to answer.

Lead me in the path of Thy making and help me, Oh Lord,

For I am weak and weary and my soul surely trembles

With the sorrow of the lonely.
