Covering the earth in gravestone is not how its supposed to be.
Dedicating acres of land for centuries of dead.
I weep for the rolling hills and valleys long that we have slowly bled.
What will it say on your epitaph as they lay you to rest?
Will it really matter well maybe for 50 years at the best.
People come and go but live on in our memory.
Is it important to litter our earth with stone filigree.
So set the pyre afire and then send me out to sea.
When my work is done here why leave something dedicated to me?
I'd rather see a tree or flower in place of the cold grey stones.
Becuase under it all in a casket lay nothing but paled rotting bones.
