Fifteen

Looking in the Mirror

A young girl stares with a face dotted with age

Her thoughts wondering

Concerned about appearance

Distracted by what is so beautiful

Slim Body

High Cheekbones

Pressured into being an image

Of a perfectionism that is unattainable

The Reflection mocks her

Wanting to change

But painfully staying the same

Author's Notes/Comments:

I feel as though many other fifteen year old girls can relate to this poem. Thanks guys!
