My grandmother’s living room is a very special one, maybe the most special of all living rooms. It has never changed since I was a baby, or even before. As you enter the house, the first things you see is this beautiful, antique living room, 3 lovely and comfortable couches, were you can sit and relax all day, a table at the center, and a beautiful dog full of energy and joy when someone enters the house, jumping from couch to couch wanting you to play with him, and it never stops he is always wanting to play. Then you see my grandmother in the kitchen cooking something delicious as she always does, and my grandfather in his wheel chair watching bullfight or some black and white Mexican movie. Christmas, New Year, birthdays, parties, family reunions, joy, tragedies. That living room is always full of people, we’ve passed many events in that lovely living room. There is always this familiar feeling when you enter the house, that you are welcome no matter where are you from or who you are. There was this time I remember very well, it was Christmas, and the whole family was in that living room, my grandmother is my mother’s mom, and my mother has 7 sisters and 1 brother. So I have 33 cousins, and everybody, absolutely everybody was that day in that living room. Some were eating, others watching TV, my little cousins running around the house playing with whatever they find, that night every member of the family received a gift, from our familiars. There was no one that night that was left without a gift. Everyone full of joy and love, sharing stories, laughing, that was the best Christmas I have ever had. Once a month I visit my grandparents and that is where I spent most of my time. When I think of my grandparents their house is the first thing that comes to my mind, and specially that living room. I don’t know what else to say about that lovely living room, many people I don’t know have been in that living room. You are welcome to go any day you want no matter who you are, you are going to be received with a huge welcome from my grandparents and a solid and warm hug, and that is when you are going to think, there is something very special here.
