The Luck Side of Death

Suppose to die is luckier then you thought,

suppose you're unhappy with what life has brought.

To live unhappy is to die reborn.

To die reborn is to have lived forlorn.

One's own joy is not obtained,

it is not given, and never gained.

You live the life you chose to live

and you give the most that you can give.

For those who can't handle the pain it brings,

the song of death they are destined to sing.

These are ones who live life just to pass the days

and to them death is luckier then some might say.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This poem came while doing homework. And one of the questions asked what did Walt Whitman mean when he said, "To die is luckier then you suppose." This poem is my interpretation of that very question. I hope you Enjoy!
