The stars at night
look back at her
as she connects the dots one by one
a pyramid here
a horse there
the bed of the truck
is cold
and uncomfortable
yet is surprisingly
relaxing
the subtle breeze
plays with her hair
she wants
to close her eyes
and imagine a
world beyond her own
yet is overly compelled
to see it with
her eyes
rather than her mind
she wonders if
he is gazing upon
the same sky
with all it’s splendor,
how could he not be
the stars reflect her beauty
her face shines upon them
