My eyes are heavy but will not close,
Scared to dream of what no other knows.
The lights are off, yet inside things remain bright,
Shifting my dreams from you is a constant fight.
Memories become shifted by faceless nightmares,
In my slumber Im thrown into a world for which not one cares.
Fighting the sandman only quickens his pace,
With every droop of my eyes I see only your face.
A constant reminder refusing to rest,
Pushing me further, my self I must test.
So let the nightmares to continue to draw near,
For in my reality have I already faced my greatest fear.
