His Majesty, The Time, who rules
Upon a human’s age
Though seldom, follows our rules,
But takes a greater wage.
It never lingers for a man,
And many times deceives;
But it may stop for love, and then,
When people die, it lives.
No use to beg The Time to save
The beauty, if it has no light;
Although it shall destroy the wave,
The Time will leave the ocean bright.
It burns the trees and leaves them grey,
But doesn’t kill the spring;
So if at sunset takes the day,
Another day shall bring.
So, thank The Time, he did his best.
Although at night he will
Destroy the ray, He’s kind. In rest
The sun is shining still.
