I thought that you were more mature

Then to say the things you said

But intentions can be misconstrued

If they are wrongly read.



I suppose you may be sorry

Not today but in due time

But I won’t make apologies

That aren’t meant to be mine.



Am I the type of person

Who only cares for me

You never paid attention

If that is all you see.



I thought that you were more mature

Can you tell me that I’m wrong

Are you the person that I see today

Or the one that I loved all along.
