This is my life

Those are my dreams

That I left behind

These days are so cruel

We’re all made to be fools

And then we’re surprised at what we find

How can we stay here

And never really care

About anything

Or anyone

Are we that selfish

Never looking out

For anything

But number one.

And it’s so hard to see this all tumble down

Should I be surprised

I don’t think so-now.



How can it be

That we’re really free

Don’t give a damn

Push along as long as we can

Some day we’ll all burn out

And maybe finally

We’ll see

That there’s more to life

Then simply being alive

Somewhere there’s worse off then you.

Take comfort in

The things you may win

I can see that you’re proud

It’s never that hard

If you’re not in the shoe’s

Of those living on the other side

Hoe can we not care

Or see that it’s not fair

Some are alone

And have no place to go

Are we so blinded

Will we never see

That we have to be

Bigger then this.

And it’s hard to realize that this world is breaking

Should I agonize

Even if you don’t- now.

Running circles

Chasing answers

Forgetting that there might be something more

Then making the day

Then just getting paid

Then grinding that stone

Why can’t we see

There’s more to be

Then one for one alone.
