Never asked for somehing special

never wanted something real

all i wanted was a simple

opportunity to feel.



Something other then regret

and all my melancholy thoghts

something to hold on too

was the only thing I sought.



Something I could call my own

for just a moment, maybe two

was that too much to ask

something you simply couldn't do.



Something was a dream

I don't expect t ever find

I left that feeling long ago

with the love that stayed behind,
