I anticipate your strike

waiting, worrying

to fearful to breathe

as the silence melds with dark.

I sit on the earth

eye to eye, thoughts beheld.



Boundaries broken in our wait

recalling days more simple

before our defences deatroyed

who we were, what we meant.

We had forgotten

things we pushed away so long ago.



"I'll love you forever" you told me,

"I'll never forget you" my reply,

"I'll never forgive you" your true weapon,

making me feel my heart had died.



My determination starts to cave

can I hurt you even now

as I hurt you long ago

this hate rooted from envy

though I never did know

until our time had past

and we were alone.
