THIS IS "NOT" A LOVE SONG

(nor is it a love POEM.)



Ain't no sign here of forever...

when forever can't begin.

You once said we'd be together...

and all friends could make ammends.

And I cannot remember...

now the picture that this lends,

while in ponder of my future...

and this prayer to try again.



Can't remember when it started...

though I've tried a thousand times.

The reasons why we parted...

closed on out a thousand rhymes.

And I could blame the seasons...

for these changes that I've found...

but there's nothing 'round that's dying...

there's still light upon my ground.



Ain't no pathway to forever...

when this lost one never ends.

I could never be so clever...

though I'll try you once again.

And I could state it better...

if I told you on a whim.

"The past, it's for replacing...

yet, the last place where we've been."

like the love songs that we'd play.

The colors now are blending...

into shades of blue dismay.
