THE BLESSINGS OF THY FATHERS
Well aren’t you better off than your homeland brothers
And better yet than your own fathers and your mothers
What blessings you may ask
Well that’s not too hard a task
In India, Africa, China or southeast Asia
Even good old Europe or far off Guyana
Most of you have your own car, land or a fridge
A house with mown lawn with a wide frontage
And maybe some dollars in your bank account
And even a pony or horse in a stable to mount
For you’re the products of a very proud heritage
And real honest pioneers who showed courage
Those who toiled today can show the results
In peace far from violence and nasty insults
When some tried to pray to Ram or Allah
Or to return to the Motherland of India
They were also struck dumb when they landed
Since then Motherlands aren’t being demanded
Really! could this were where we yearned to go
The squalor, filth and poverty gave us a big blow
The caste system, and women’s maltreatment
An ancient way of life so hideously indecent
Very shocking and disappointed we returned home
With thanks to our forefathers who left that dome
As many in America still complaining woefully
After 175 years about not given the opportunity
Still suffocating in food stamps and steep in welfare
Others are scraping and crawling to come over here
They’re still blaming Caucasians for their freedom
As others risk deadly shark infested waters to come
And other immigrants just came over within decades
Doing the menial chores in farms, kitchens and maids
And they have risen above the standards of the natives
Who are still stewing over same old same old motives
Have they forgotten how their forefathers denied entry
To Sikhs,Jews,Haitians and folks from other ancestry?
Then the other motherland Africa still struggling
Blaming the west and others for their suffering
Her politicians and leaders forever in tribal warfare
Invade, defy, doing what they want without any care
