The one where we’re standing

beside a wishing well

and I fell in.

I fall in love with the way

you rarely smile.

I fall in love with the way

you seldom laugh.

I fall in love with the way

you please me.

I fall in love with the way

you displease me.

The one where you watch

me fall.

With a face so emotionless I can see right through you.

I kept falling.

You pushed me in and I kept falling.

Falling deeper and deeper

in love with the way this hurts.

The iciness of the water

the stinging sensations

So cold I’m on fire.

Don’t tell me I don’t know desire.

Now here’s your body.

Pale blue and stiff.

You’re a death saver as I cling on to what’s left of you.
