In the quiet of this chamber
I lie in warmth watching the candles flame flicker and dance.
Thunder echoes all around me
and intervals of silence and rain leave me in a trance.
Lightening strikes before me
what a stunning sight.
Illuminating this dark room besides one candles light.
The rain pours angry
more soothing than before.
Until it quiets down and returns once more.
This chamber that confines me
and I’m long to break
break free from this prison of a body
from all the sorrows and the pain
And fly out beyond my window
and become part of this rain.
